Who we are, and what these terms cover

These terms govern your use of this website and, where noted, the services Landfall provides. Any engagement to act for you is governed by a separate written engagement letter, which prevails over these terms if the two ever conflict.

Eligibility

Our services are for adults, aged 18 or over, with the legal capacity to enter into a contract. We act for private clients and families relocating lawfully. We do not act where the purpose is to conceal identity or the origin of funds, to evade a legal obligation, or to obtain a permit by misrepresentation — and we will withdraw, without refund of work done, if we discover that is the case.

How an engagement works

• The call. A consultation with a principal. We ask about your circumstances and tell you which jurisdictions are realistic. This is not advice you should act on alone.
• The memo. A written recommendation setting out the route, the reasoning, the document schedule, a realistic timeline, and every cost, with ours named separately from third parties'. The memo is yours to keep.
• The filing and the landing. Only if you engage us further, and only under a signed engagement letter that fixes the scope and the fee.

What we do not do

We are not tax advisors and we are not a law firm. We do not give tax advice or legal advice, and we do not tell you what you will pay in tax anywhere. We introduce you to licensed professionals in-country and attend the meeting with you. See our disclaimer for the full statement of scope.

We do not guarantee that an application will be approved, or that a bank will open an account. Those decisions belong to the authority and the bank respectively. We prepare the file; we do not decide the outcome, and we will never claim otherwise.

Fees and payment

• Our fee is agreed in writing before any work begins and is fixed thereafter.
• Government fees, legal and professional fees, and committed capital are not our fee. They are paid directly to the authority or the professional concerned, at their published rate, and we never mark them up.
• We take no commission, referral fee, or rebate from any developer, bank, lawyer, school, agent, or landlord. If one is offered to us, we decline it and tell you it was offered.
• The fee for the memo is credited in full against a full engagement begun within ninety days.

Your responsibilities

You must give us complete and accurate information, including where it is unflattering, and tell us promptly if your circumstances change. Applications fail on inconsistency more often than on substance. You must attend in person where a programme requires it, complete any bank compliance process yourself, and sign what only you can sign.

Cancellation and refunds

You may end an engagement at any time in writing. We will invoice for work actually performed to that point and refund the balance of any advance. Fees paid to third parties — authorities, lawyers, valuers — are governed by those third parties and are usually not recoverable once filed. We will tell you before any such fee becomes non-refundable.

If we conclude that no jurisdiction we cover is right for you, we will say so, and you will not be charged for work beyond the memo.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees you have paid us under it. We are not liable for the acts, omissions, or advice of the independent professionals we introduce you to, nor for a decision of any government authority or bank.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version published here applies to any engagement entered into after it is posted; an engagement already under way is governed by the terms in force when it was signed.
