We are not tax advisors
Landfall does not provide tax advice, and nothing on this site is tax advice. Residency and tax treatment are two separate questions, decided by two different authorities, under rules that depend entirely on your personal circumstances and that change without notice.
We publish no tax rates, no effective rates, and no statements about what you would or would not pay in any jurisdiction — deliberately, and permanently. Where the question arises, we introduce you to a licensed tax advisor in the relevant country and attend the meeting with you. Only that advisor, having seen your affairs, can tell you anything reliable, and only they are accountable for it.
We are not a law firm
Landfall is a relocation and residency consultancy. We are not admitted to practise law in any jurisdiction and we do not provide legal advice. Where the work requires a licensed professional — a lawyer, a notary, a certified valuer — we introduce you to one, and their advice is theirs, not ours.
We are independent of every government named on this site
Landfall is an independent private firm. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agent of any government, immigration authority, consulate, or public body in Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, Panama, Georgia, or anywhere else. Where we name a country or a residency programme, we do so factually and for the purpose of describing our services. No official endorsement is implied, and none exists.
We cannot promise an outcome
Immigration and residency applications are decided by the relevant authority, at its discretion, on the law and the facts as it finds them. We do not, and cannot, guarantee that any application will be approved, that it will be decided within any particular period, or that a programme will remain open on its current terms. We publish no success rates, because any figure we published would be one you could not verify.
Similarly, bank account opening is decided by the bank. Banks are legally required to carry out identity and source-of-funds checks, they apply their own criteria, and they are not obliged to explain a decision. We prepare your file to the standard the bank expects and we attend the meeting; we cannot shorten, influence, or bypass those checks, and we would not work with a bank that allowed anyone to.
Figures on this site are indicative
Minimum stay requirements, processing timelines, government fees, and investment thresholds shown anywhere on this site — including in the comparison table on the home page and on the jurisdictions page — are indicative. They carry a visible stamp showing when we last checked them, and they are published to help you understand the shape of each programme, not as figures to act on.
Residency programmes change frequently, sometimes at short notice and sometimes retroactively. We re-verify every relevant figure against the official source and confirm it to you in writing before you commit to anything. Do not rely on any number on this page, or on any page of this site, in making a decision. If a figure here differs from what the authority publishes, the authority is right and we are out of date.
Committed capital is at your risk
Several of the programmes described on this site require a qualifying investment — property, a company, or a fixed deposit. That capital is yours, held in your name, and it is at your risk. It is not a fee, it is not paid to Landfall, and its value may fall. Property markets can be illiquid, and a permit does not guarantee that you can sell what you bought at the price you paid. Take independent advice before committing capital, and expect us to encourage you to.
Third-party links and professionals
Where we introduce you to a lawyer, tax advisor, bank, school, valuer, or agent, we do so on the basis of our own experience, and we take no commission from any of them. They are independent professionals. Their advice, their conduct, and their fees are their own, and we accept no liability for them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Landfall accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on the general information published on this website, as distinct from the written advice we give you under an engagement. Our liability under any engagement is set out in the engagement letter you sign.
Changes
We update this site as programmes change. We may revise this disclaimer at any time, and the version published here is the one that applies.
